PEX-AL Tubing 1/2" ID x 300M

We now stock competitively priced PEX-AL Oxygen Barrier (OB) tubing in 1/2" ID in 300 M (985') long rolls to be used with our XPS-AL panels.  One roll should be sufficient for 4 x 120 SF bundles of the panels.  Although PEX-B has become the more popular tubing in North America for radiant heating applications this is mostly because it is the least expensive of the three types you can use.  The reason we chose to offer the PEX-AL tubing with our panels is that it doesn't expand or contract nearly as much as PEX-A or B and is therefore ideal for dry installation methods where movement is possible and is known to cause "squeaking".  PEX-AL can reduce labour by up to 50% since the tubing holds it's shape when bent and will not try to spring back to it's original shape making it easier for one person to lay pipe.  It also exhibits slightly higher flow rates, better thermal transfer and higher pressure ratings than other PEX products and may be used with other installation methods.  It is important, however, that you use the proper compression or press fittings designed for PEX-AL and not the crimp style connectors used with PEX-B.  Floor heating manifolds all come standard with compression fittings so using it in radiant applications should not pose any issues since both ends of the tubing connect directly to the manifold.  You may choose to use PEX-A or B for all other parts of the installation along with traditionally available fittings for those products.  This product meets all Canadian and US regulatory requirements for radiant heating and cooling applications.
