Internet Gateway

If your control system is unable to connect to our paid internet monitoring service there is a chance you may need a new gateway adapter.  These don't often fail so make sure it has diagnosed before ordering one.  Here are some practical tips on diagnosing gateway related issues:

• If you have a system manufactured prior to 2016 you may have a Lantronix RS485-MB adapter.  You can download the configuration software here:  https://www.lantronix.com/products/deviceinstaller/ and once installed you can use the search function to find the adapter on the LAN and optionally configure it using either Telnet or HTTP modes depending on the firmware revision.
• If you have a more recent unit manufactured after 2016 you probably have a USR RS485-MB adapter.  Sometimes if you change ISP your router may have changed the LAN addressing to use a different address and this makes it difficult to discover the gateway on the LAN.  We recommend downloading a free IP scanner https://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/ to scan your LAN for devices with the keywords Jinan or USR in them.  If you suspect that the LAN addressing has changed then you can temporarily change your router address or your network adapter IP address to use a different LAN address, search for the adapter using the IP scanner and if you find it then change the LAN settings to use the new LAN addressing scheme.

Adapters are normally powered with 15 VDC power adapters so make sure polarity is connected correctly and that you have a working power supply.
